Precendent Study

Reading the book “DAYLIGHT PERFORMANCE OF BUILDINGS” BY Marc Fontoynont, from the chapter on museums, I had understood that daylight is not a very good source of light for artwork such as paintings, drawings, collages and oil paintings, thus 2% of light is enough to enter. For sculptors and hand made artwork, more natural light is needed because with a sculptor you look at it from all angles and therefore manufactured light will not give the observer the satisfied perspective.

The building called “Prince Sculptures” is based on the principle of public (ground level) to private (floor two). The idea of the design was brought up by the original building that stands there today. The exterior of the building were ideas from looking at works from Peter Eisenman (forming a building from a cube), Casa del Fascio and Petrobras Headquarteers.
